7 Summits Austria Infos

New project:

Austria's SEVEN SUMMITS in less than seven days!

With Wolfgang Fasching we have won one of Austria's most likeable and authentic exceptional athletes as the testimonial for the brand Seven Summits. "We are happy with the excellent cooperation with Wolfgang Fasching because, like himself, our brand stands for affinity to nature, dynamics, willpower and quality awareness," says Größwang. After Fasching successfully finished the climb of the Seven Summits last year - the seven highest mountains of the seven continents - he will embark on a new challenging project on 13th August, 2010. Fasching plans to climb Austria's seven summits within seven days, with the support of Intersport Eybl.

"Seven Summits Austria" - these are the seven highest mountains of Austria's nine provinces, whereby three of them are considered borderline summits. This means he will start on 13th August at 4 a.m. at the Piz Buin (3,312 m) in Vorarlberg and will then tackle the following summits: Großvenediger (3,662m); Großglockner (3,798m); Dachstein (2,995m); Gschriebenstein (884m), Hermannskogel (542m), Schneeberg (2,076m).

7S - Fasching
Wolfgang Fasching would not be the well-known extreme athlete that he is, had he not added another challenging aspect to this already difficult project: "I have decided not to cover the distance between the individual summits with the help of cars or other motorized vehicles. This means that I will cover more than 1,000 km in distance and over 20,000 metres in altitude difference in total - and all this in fewer than seven days," says Fasching.

Exercise for well beeing

Even though the former British prime minister Sir Winston Churchill once said "no sports" was the secret of his health, this is no longer appropriate to modern day living.
