Race across America, Finisher, RAAM, Wolfgang Fasching

8 competitions, 8 podium places, 3 victories at the toughest bike race in the world

The RAAM is, as many people think, the craziest bike race in the world – with the target to be the fastest one in the 5,000 km stage from the American West Coast to the East Coast. You have to pass more than 50 checkpoints and stay inside a time limit of 12 days and 5 hours. Every participant can rest when necessary, but your chances of winning are highest when you sleep no more than one or two hours per night.

This unique race began in 1982 with 4 riders. Now, 25 years later, Race Across America is a well – known, international competition with about 40 participants each year. As mentioned above, Wolfgang Fasching is a 8 time finisher of the race and won the race 3 times.
