Kilimanjaro – highest peak in Africa, Kenya – 5,892 m
The massif of the Kilimanjaro is volcanic origin and is situated about 340 km south of the equator on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. Kibo is the highest of three summits in these mountains and is commonly referred to as the Kilimanjaro. It is an impressive massif due to its unique flora and fauna. Surrounded by rainforests, the summit is covered by snow and ice.
September 2nd, 10:00 am: Wolfgang Fasching reaches the top of Kilimandscharo. The highest peak of Africa and the 3rd peak of the Seven Summits!
2nd run on the Kilimandscharo. it´s one of the amazing peaks of the world!
Already on the way from the airport to the hotel, Fasching doesn´t feel comfortable. In the hotel he finds that he has a fever of 39.8° C. An ascent isn´t possible, nearly 6,000 m is simply too high if you are ill!
