Kilimanjaro – highest peak in Africa, Kenya – 5,892 m
The massif of the Kilimanjaro is volcanic origin and is situated about 340 km south of the equator on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. Kibo is the highest of three summits in these mountains and is commonly referred to as the Kilimanjaro. It is an impressive massif due to its unique flora and fauna. Surrounded by rainforests, the summit is covered by snow and ice.
